Looking like a ghoul after a long night out? Here are tried-and-tested tricks to bring back the “bounce” to tired skin.
When you rush out the door on a Friday night, you’re looking fly and feeling confident. But come dawn, after hours on the dance floor, you notice that you’re looking more “ghoulish” than “glamorous”.
Needless to say, our skin suffers when we stay up late, especially when it’s exposed to harmful chemicals such as smoke. But thankfully, the effects on our skin are never permanent.
In fact, you can “pamper” your skin back to health with these easy-to-do tricks. Try them; your skin will definitely thank you for it.
1. ALWAYS HYDRATE
There’s nothing like good ol’ H20 to hydrate tired skin. You can either drink a few glasses or spritz a fine mist of water onto your face for instant hydration. (Why not do both!) Within a few hours, you’ll notice your skin regain its natural glow and elasticity.
2. SLEEP DOES THE BODY GOOD
Skin regenerates when we sleep and so getting those 7 to 8 hours of shut eye is crucial. In addition, getting enough sleep relaxes us and puts us in a good mood, which in effect helps in achieving that radiant glow.
3. DEAL BY CONCEALING
There ain’t nothing like a good concealer to help hide those dark circles. “Erase” blemishes and dark under-eyes by patting a little bit of concealer onto the areas. For added health benefits, choose a concealer that’s infused with skin-healing vitamins.
4. FACE THE PROBLEM WITH FACIAL MASKS
Just drop by your local beauty store and you’re sure to find a wide and varied selection of facial masks. If you’re too lazy to go out, you can actually make your own DIY scrubs using fruits lying around the kitchen like cucumbers, apples and even lemons. Facial masks and scrubs are great in helping bring back that moisture and glow to dull skin.
5. ICE, ICE BABY!
Rub ice on your face to tighten pores and invigorate skin. The cool touch will help blood circulate to your face, giving you that fresh, flushed radiance.
